In April of 2000, Drs. Timothy A. Scully and Mitchell G. Davis joined together to establish Northeast Georgia Heart Center (NGHC). They established the practice to meet the needs of patients who were facing serious cardiac issues – by treating them within their own community.
Three months later, Dr. Jay H. Joseph joined the group. Next, Drs. J. Jeffrey Marshall and Mark E. Leimbach were recruited from Atlanta to start the cardiac catheterization laboratory at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.
Since the practice’s inception, these cardiovascular physicians have provided cardiac care and treatment to more than 150,000 patients and contributed to cardiology innovations through their participation in clinical research trials.
In June 2014, NGHC became The Heart Center of Northeast Georgia Medical Center. The practice's affiliation with the award-winning Northeast Georgia Medical Center ensures our patients have access to the latest cardiovascular technology and receive top quality care.
